Happy is doing the inspection!
It was my Mom who first created one of these boxes, so I dedicate this site to my Mom. Hi Mom! Below you see Happy inspecting her and Andy’s new litter box. The box itself is readily available at various places. I got one at Stop and Shop for about $15 dollars. Cheaper than the way too small crap they sell at Pet Smart and other stores like that. All litter boxes I have seen at those places are just pathetic. I would be ashamed to sell those small crappy marketed to people and not cats attempts at little boxes. And the more “automatic”, the more totally pathetic they are. They are always too small and I do not mean by an inch I mean by a foot or two. Cats ENJOY scratching around before they get down to business. If you have cats, you will need to scoop. There is no way around it. No amount of Rube Goldberg “engineering” or even MARKETING can get around that FACT. And if you love your cat or cats, you will give them a little space. Imagine if your bathroom at home was the same size as the one on the airplane. Yeah, think about THAT for a minute and you will also realize that up until now, ALL litter boxes I have seen with the exception being the one on this BLOG are TOO SMALL. Cheating your cat out of enjoyment of one of life’s most natural functions. Note: bigger than the box shown would be just fine.
I bought a different box which I will show you in a video how it is made. I am no mechanical engineer by any stretch, and I can make one, so you can too. Sharpening up my video skills now. I figure it this way. My cats 3 biggest pleasures in life are eating, eliminating, and me! The last one, I cannot do anything about 
But proper diet and a proper litter box I can certainly do something about.
It is my heartfelt belief that proper food and proper elimination will go a long way towards keeping vet bills/visits to an absolute minimum, while keeping their overall happiness at a maximum. Two things: First, wash THOROUGHLY the box when you get it. There is some sort of plastic sheen which requires soap and hot water and a few rinses to remove. After all, we want this to be as non-toxic as possible. Second, one bonus is that this box works particularly well with the litter scoop and the litter shown. More about these on other pages of this site. Some so called litter boxes have such rounded corners that scooping is impossible. Check me out on this the next time you are at a Pet Smart like store.
